Meet Nancy Lamka-Smith
Nancy Lamka-Smith is a concert pianist, composer, and lifelong educator whose work has impacted worship communities across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Beginning piano at age two, she has spent decades teaching piano, improvisation, and composition, founding Steps To Joy Music and writing over 450 sacred works, multiple musicals, concertos, and eleven studio albums.
Known as the "Airport Angel" for her peaceful playing at PDX, Nancy now teaches worship improvisation and creative expression through InspirationalComposer.com, continuing her mission to equip musicians with confidence, freedom, and excellence.
As the founder of Inspirational Composer, she has taught thousands of students how to improvise, compose, and play with confidence and expression. Her approach combines practical technique with spiritual depth, helping musicians connect more deeply with their art.
